Role Summary

The Electrical Engineer will develop and deliver the electrical system design for the TTE project, including power distribution, equipment wiring, electrical interfaces, safety systems, and commissioning support. This role supports all phases of the project from conceptual design to operations and future modifications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the electrical design for TTE, including power distribution and wiring architecture.

  • Develop electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and cable routing strategies.

  • Define electrical interfaces between diagnostic, mechanical, and control systems.

  • Ensure NEC, NFPA, and facility safety compliance across all installations.

  • Support electrical installation planning, panel design, protective devices, and interlocks.

  • Assist with commissioning, functional testing, and fault diagnosis.

  • Adapt electrical systems as the project evolves through design, testing, and operations.

  • Work with suppliers, contractors, and internal teams to ensure high-quality electrical implementation.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field.

  • 5+ years of experience in industrial, research, or laboratory electrical system design.

  • Strong background in power distribution, electrical protection, grounding, and control wiring.

  • Ability to produce electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and cable routing documentation.

  • Experience designing or integrating electrical panels, instrumentation circuits, or interlock systems.

  • Strong knowledge of NEC, NFPA, and electrical safety standards applicable to laboratory or industrial environments.

  • Experience supporting electrical installation, testing, and commissioning in a technical facility.

  • Ability to work around and integrate HV, LV, and control circuits safely and effectively.

  • Cross-functional experience working with mechanical, controls, and diagnostics teams.

  • Eligibility to work in the United States (Austin, Texas).

Preferred Knowledge Base

  • Experience with industrial electrical systems, panel design, and control wiring.

  • Knowledge of NEC, NFPA, and electrical safety practices.

  • Familiarity with instrumentation, interlocks, or low-voltage power distribution.

  • Experience supporting complex R&D or scientific equipment installations.

  • Understanding of grounding strategies, shielding, and noise mitigation in sensitive systems.

  • Experience with cleanroom or scientific facilities.

  • Willingness to support extended hours during critical integration phases.

  • Comfortable working around high-voltage systems under appropriate controls.

  • Ability to travel for vendor interaction, design reviews, or system integration meetings.
