The Electrical Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all electrical installations, maintenance, and repair activities across the mining site. This role ensures compliance with relevant safety standards, electrical codes, and industry regulations. The Electrical Supervisor will lead and coordinate a team of electricians to maintain efficient, reliable, and safe operations. In addition, the role involves troubleshooting complex electrical issues and driving continuous improvement initiatives to optimize system performance and support production goals. Provides exceptional leadership and direction through coaching, mentorship, supervision and development with a focus on a safe and inclusive environment.
1. Supervise and coordinate daily activities of electricians and electrical contractors across the site.
2. Oversee installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems, components, and equipment, including substations, switchgear, motors, and control systems.
3. Ensure all work is performed in compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations and site procedures.
4. Inspect electrical systems to identify hazards, defects, or the need for adjustments or upgrades.
5. Plan and schedule preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
6. Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to support operational reliability and project execution.
7. Maintain accurate documentation of inspections, maintenance, repairs, and safety checks.
8. Support training and development of team members to ensure technical competency and safety awareness.
9. Recommend and implement system improvements to enhance electrical performance, energy efficiency, and operational safety.
10. Complies with and ensure compliance with Redpath’s Policies and Procedures as detailed in the appropriate manuals, handbooks, directives, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
11. Train and mentor staff on operational procedures and safety measures.
12. Monitor equipment performance and address any issues promptly.
13. Implement and enforce company policies and procedures.
14. Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with regulations and standards.
15. Address any personnel issues or conflicts within the shift team.
16. Manages employee performance and adherence to the Company’s policies and procedures.
17. Ensure that training is provided to meet with the current and future needs of the mine.
18. Responsible for the hiring, evaluation, commendation, training, disciplinary action, and dismissals regarding supervised staff.
19. If required to operate a company vehicle during the course of employment, must meet the requirements to be an eligible user of company vehicles. Must possess a current State Driver’s License and acceptable driving record.
20. Responsible to keep work areas safe and free of hazards. Performs Field Level Risk Assessments.
21. Must be able to comprehend written and verbal instructions as required to perform his duties in a safe and efficient manner.
22. Comply with daily, weekly and monthly safety directives, policies, and procedures.
23. Maintain confidentiality with respect to Redpath and client information.
24. Complies with and ensure compliance with Redpath’s Policies and Procedures as detailed in the appropriate manuals, handbooks, directives, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
25. Able to work in excess of 40 hours a week, overtime, day and nights, weekends, holidays and shift rotations.

Education:
1. Bachelor’s degree in mining/mechanical/ electrical engineering or related field is preferred.
Work Experience:
1. Experience as a Licensed Electrician (5-10 years)
2. Supervisory Experience (2-5 years)
Knowledge Required:
1. Must be able to demonstrate proper use and safe handling of tools, equipment and materials.
2. Knowledge of the mining industry underground environment
3. Ability to read and understand engineering prints (civil work, structural work, rock excavation work).
4. Knowledge and understanding of mine regulations pertaining to construction in mining.
